Special Features
A feature of the School is the practical application of the
words of the wise in daily life. Children are encouraged to ‘Know
Thyself’, to serve others with an open heart, to remember the
eternal principle from which everything arises and to express the
virtues of beauty, excellence and truthfulness in all activities.
Weekly philosophy lessons help the children to understand
themselves, the world they live in and how they relate to it.
All activities in school begin and end with a quiet pause. At play
and at work
the children are reminded to turn their attention out and be
mindful of others.
Children serve each other at lunch. Written work of the highest
standard is
expected; indeed, all work whether it be writing, mathematics or
art is presented in the best possible way. The school, its pupils
and environment then become a living reflection of the truth and
unity within us all.
There are many special features to Erasmus School. They all play
a part in creating a nurturing environment for the children. These
