School Camps

The school camp programme begins in Grade 4, when children spend
2 nights at Camp Manyung in Mount Eliza. The children are
introduced to archery, flying fox, rope course and other activities
that build trust and communication. Situated on the beach, the camp
provides opportunities to explore the seashore and discover more
about the coastal environment and the diverse creatures living
where the land meets the sea. Most of the activities are taken by
the trained staff of the camp.
In Grade 5 the children spend 3 nights at Camp Howqua. They get
to swim and canoe in the crystal clear waters of the Howqua River,
go horseriding, orienteering and also get to further develop their
skills in archery. A trip to nearby Mt. Buller provides an
opportunity for an exhilarating walk to the summit. After lunch the
children visit the indoor Sports Centre where they tackle the
indoor rock climbing wall. Night walks and a chance to sleep out in
tents make this a rewarding and memorable week.
In Grade 6 the children visit Canberra. Their tour of the
National capital includes visits to the Museum, Questacon Science
& Technology Centre, The Australian War Memorial and both the
new and the old Houses of Parliament. Visits to the summit of Mount
Ainslie and
Black Mountain provide stunning views of the Capital, while a
lakeside bicycle ride gives a another perspective on this unique
city.
